Everything We Know About the Disney Destiny Cruise Ship (So Far)
Okay, let’s talk about Disney’s brand-new ship: the Disney Destiny. She’s not out yet, but if you’re a Disney Cruise person (or think you might be), this is one to keep your eye on. The Destiny is the next ship in Disney’s Wish class lineup, and she’s officially set to set sail in November 2025. That means now is the best time to start planning your cruise!
The Destiny is all about the classic tension between heroes and villains. Disney Imagineers say they were inspired by “the dynamic duality of every great Disney story,” and guests can expect immersive experiences that explore both sides of that story. Disney has teased characters like Hercules, Hades, Scar, and Cruella de Vil, so you know it’s going to be good.
Stern Art and Grand Hall
The Destiny will be the first Disney Cruise Line ship to feature a Marvel superhero on its stern. Spider-Man and his Spider-Bots will be climbing across the back of the ship, decorating it in webs.
Inside, the Grand Hall will be an elegant tribute to the world of Black Panther. A statue of King T’Challa will welcome guests, and the hall will use lighting effects to shift and change during special events. Disney has even hinted that Loki might pop in for some mischief.
Dining: Pride Lands, Marvel, and Villainous 1923
Like all Disney Cruise Line ships, the Destiny will use the rotational dining system, which means you rotate through three different restaurants during your sailing, and your servers rotate with you. I love this because your servers get to know you (and your kids’ drink orders), and the whole thing feels both exciting and familiar. Each restaurant on the Destiny will be themed to different Disney heroes and villains and I cannot wait to see how they pull that off.
One of the ship’s three main dining rooms will be called Pride Lands: Feast of the Lion King. It’s a brand-new concept for Disney Cruise Line, with live musicians playing African instruments, dancers, and original storytelling. The menu will highlight African-inspired flavors, blended with family-friendly favorites. There will even be two different menus for guests dining there more than once on a five-night sailing.
The other two restaurants are fan favorites from the Disney Wish: Worlds of Marvel and 1923. This version of 1923 will feature art and memorabilia celebrating Disney and Pixar heroes and villains.
Cafés Inspired by Megara and Merida
Just off the Grand Hall, you’ll find two walk-up cafés named for Disney heroines. Café Megara will have a retro “Greco disco” vibe, while Café Merida will feature Celtic-inspired design details. Both will serve specialty drinks, teas, and snacks.
Kids and Teens
The Oceaneer Club will have Marvel Super Hero Academy, a Star Wars space, princess-themed areas, a Mickey and Minnie clubhouse, and a chance to design and imagine like a real Disney Imagineer. It’s designed for kids ages 3 to 10.
It’s a Small World Nursery will be available for little ones ages 6 months to 3 years.
Tweens (11 to 13) can hang out at Edge, designed like a modern NYC loft, while teens (14 to 17) will have their own stylish space at Vibe.
Staterooms and Suites
Most staterooms will look familiar if you’ve been on the Wish or the Treasure. Expect split bathrooms and connecting rooms for families. Each room will include artwork inspired by Hercules, Mulan, or Brave.
Concierge-level rooms and suites will be themed to Fantasia, with watercolor-style artwork and a little extra luxury. Concierge guests will also get exclusive perks like a private sun deck and lounge. The royal suites will honor Hercules and The Incredibles.
AquaMouse and More
The Destiny will feature an updated AquaMouse ride called Sing a Silly Song. You’ll join Mickey and Minnie on a wild ride through Villain Mountain, complete with surprise encounters with Disney villains. Naturally, the solution is to sing a silly song and enjoy the 760-foot slide.
Families will love the upper deck area, which includes seven pools, lounge space, and quick eats with a character twist. There’s also a Toy Story splash zone, family slide, wading pool, and smoothie bar.
Character Experiences
If you love Disney villains, you’ll be in heaven. The Destiny will feature meet-and-greets and events with characters like Maleficent, Captain Hook, Dr. Facilier, Cruella, Oogie Boogie, and even misunderstood icons like Jack Sparrow and Loki. Look for a villain dance party, trivia nights with chaotic twists, and other surprises.
Entertainment
Disney Cruise Line shows are always top-tier, like Broadway-level theater at sea. Onboard, you can catch Broadway-style productions like Frozen: A Musical Spectacular, a charming, magical retelling of the movie we all know by heart, and Disney Seas the Adventure, an original stage show starring Captain Minnie, Goofy, and a bunch of Disney and Pixar favorites.
The Disney Destiny will debut an all-new stage show, too! A fresh take on Hercules that blends everything you love about the movie with a fun, contemporary twist. The Muses narrate the whole thing, and you’ll see all your favorite characters, some played by actors, some brought to life through incredible puppetry. Of course, the iconic soundtrack is front and center, with songs like “Go the Distance,” “Zero to Hero,” and “I Won’t Say I’m in Love,” plus a brand-new song written for the film that’s finally getting its moment: “Shooting Star.”
And the fun doesn’t stop with stage shows. There’s so much to explore:
Pirate’s Rockin’ Parlay Party – A deck party like no other, with a live rock band, pirate vibes, and those signature Disney Cruise Line fireworks at sea.
Hero Zone – A futuristic sports arena where families can compete in obstacle courses inspired by The Incredibles and play active games together.
Disney Uncharted Adventure – This one’s interactive and played right from your phone. It’s a virtual quest that takes you all around the ship alongside some familiar Disney and Pixar heroes.
Wonderland and Never Land Cinemas – Cozy movie theaters showing first-run films from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Lucasfilm. Perfect for a relaxed afternoon or evening with popcorn in hand.
Lounges and Nightlife
The Destiny’s adult lounges are getting bold, themed makeovers:
DeVil’s Piano Bar will channel Cruella with red, black, and white decor and a piano that steals the show. Expect live music and a menu full of stylish cocktails.
Cask and Cannon is a pirate-themed sports bar, inspired by Pirates of the Caribbean. It’ll serve rare rums and craft brews and show live sports in an eclectic setting filled with stolen treasure.
Haunted Mansion Parlor is bringing spooky fun to sea, with eerie cocktails and appearances by fan-favorite ghosts.
Other adult spaces include Saga, a multi-level entertainment venue with Wakandan-inspired design, and The Sanctum, a Doctor Strange-themed bar that will serve cocktails and coffee surrounded by magical artifacts.
You’ll also find Quiet Cove, the serene, adults-only pool area, fantastic for unwinding.
