Disneyland Character Dining: Everything You Need to Know

Updated November 21, 2025

Disneyland character dining experiences are a fun way to meet your favorite Disney friends while enjoying a meal. Character meals are available in Disneyland Park and at two of the Disneyland Resort hotels. Currently, there are four character dining options at Disneyland Resort. One is in the Disneyland Hotel, two are at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel, and one is inside Disneyland Park. Breakfast and brunch options are available at all locations, while Storytellers Cafe and Goofy’s Kitchen also offer character dinners. Each experience has its own menu and unique character lineup.

We’ve tried them all and put together this guide to help you choose the right character dining experience for your family!

Minnie & Friends Breakfast Buffet — Plaza Inn

Plaza Inn is located on Main Street, U.S.A., inside Disneyland Park. The restaurant serves a Victorian-style breakfast with both indoor and outdoor seating. This is the most character-rich Disneyland character meal, often featuring seven or eight characters, including Minnie, Pooh, Tigger, Pluto, Chip, Dale, and Cinderella’s mice. Occasionally, you may meet characters like Pinocchio or Max, and special occasions like Mother’s Day and Father’s Day bring even more.

While you eat, characters circulate the tables, and spending 90 minutes ensures you get to see them all.

The buffet includes standard breakfast items such as cereal, scrambled eggs, French toast, sausage, bacon, potatoes, pastries, fruit, made-to-order omelets, and Minnie waffles with syrup or caramelized bananas. Standout items include boneless fried chicken with biscuits and gravy. Beverages like juice, coffee, hot chocolate, tea, and soda are self-serve.

Plaza Inn is the least expensive character dining option at Disneyland. Adult buffet meals are $55, and children ages 3 to 9 are $33, plus tax. (Pricing is subject to change, always check the app!) Keep in mind that a Disneyland park ticket is required to access this meal.

Storytellers Cafe

Storytellers Cafe at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel is one of our favorite character dining experiences. Breakfast is served from 7 a.m. to 10:55 a.m., and brunch runs from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The menu features a relaxed buffet with higher-end offerings such as smoked salmon, charcuterie, oatmeal with toppings, egg white frittata, eggs Benedict, chilaquiles, pancakes, Mickey waffles, carved meats, breakfast potatoes, and made-to-order omelets.

Characters include Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, and Chip and Dale (at breakfast and brunch.) They circulate around tables for hugs and photos. Special themed meals are offered for Easter, Mother’s Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

Breakfast and brunch prices are $65 for adults and $36 for children ages 3 to 9, plus tax and gratuity. An 18 percent gratuity is automatically added to the bill, or 20 percent for parties of 8 or more. (Pricing is subject to change, always check the app!)

Dinner runs from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., with menu items including baby back spareribs, slow-roasted prime rib, carved turkey, fried chicken, brisket, salmon, charcuterie, vegetables, kid-friendly options, and desserts such as s’mores bread pudding. Characters greeting at dinner can change. Pricing can also change based on seasonal menus. Check the app for the most accurate pricing.

Goofy’s Kitchen

Goofy’s Kitchen at Disneyland Hotel offers a lively and playful character dining experience. Breakfast features traditional and unique dishes such as scrambled eggs, eggs Benedict, chilaquiles, Mickey pancakes, Mickey waffles, biscuits and gravy, chicken tenders, mac and cheese, and even playful pizzas like peanut butter or s’mores pizza. Dinner includes carving stations, pasta, salads, vegetables, hot dogs, and Goofyroni and cheese.

Characters include Goofy, Minnie, Pluto, and Chip and Dale. Characters stop for hugs, autographs, and photos. Seasonal meals, such as Halloween and holiday celebrations, feature themed outfits and menus.

Normal prices for breakfast are $59 for adults and $36 for children ages 3 to 9. Dinner is $69 for adults and $39 for children. Holiday prices are higher, and an 18 percent gratuity is automatically added. (Pricing is subject to change, always check the app!)

Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures - Trillium Room at Napa Rose

While Napa Rose undergoes refurbishment, the Princess Breakfast Adventures is temporarily held in the Trillium Room at the Grand Californian Hotel. This meal offers a three-course breakfast and brunch experience. Guests can meet six to eight princesses, including Belle, Mulan, Rapunzel, Tiana, Ariel, Jasmine, Aurora, and Pocahontas. (Princesse may change.)

The menu includes a variety of breakfast and lunch options, such as banana wraps, granola parfaits, lobster crostini, house-made mac and cheese, princess waffles, barbecue beef sliders, scrambled eggs, bacon, turkey sausage, vegetables, papas bravas, braised short ribs, and Mickey waffles. Desserts include chocolate princess cake pops, petite tarts, seashell macarons, and sorbet sprinkled with gold pixie dust.

Beverages include juice, coffee, hot chocolate, and milk. Adults may order champagne or other themed drinks for an additional cost. Prices are $142 per person, adult or child, excluding tax and gratuity. This is the most expensive character dining option available.

Choosing the Right Character Dining Experience

All character meals are similar in terms of breakfast buffet offerings, but they differ in the characters present and the style of service. Choose the meal that best fits your family’s priorities. Younger children may enjoy smaller, more interactive experiences, while older children may want to maximize autograph opportunities.

A character meal is a great way to spend your check in day, rest day or check out day.
