Disney World Park Refurbishments: What to Know

When you’re planning a trip to Walt Disney World, it’s important to stay updated on attraction refurbishments that might affect your visit. Here is a list of what is scheduled to be closed for maintenance and updates:
Transportation
Skyliner — will be closed January 26 - 31, 2026 for maintenance.
Parks:
Magic Kingdom:
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad – Closes January 6, 2025. Will reopen in 2026.
The Hall of Presidents - temporarily closed.
Astro Orbiter - temporarily closed.
Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade – Permanently closed.
Liberty Square Riverboat – Closes permanently in 2025.
Tom Sawyer Island – Closes permanently in 2025.
Epcot:
Test Track – Currently closed. Will reopen in 2025.
Hollywood Studios:
Voyage of the Little Mermaid – Reopens in Summer 2025
Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano - closing May 10, 2025
Muppet*Vision 3D - closing June 7, 2025
PizzeRizzo - closing June 7, 2025
Animal Kingdom
DINOSAUR – will close, date not announced.
It’s Tough to Be a Bug – will close, date not announced.
Resorts:
Disney's All-Star Movies Resort: From mid-August through the end of November, Rialto in the World Premiere Food Court will be closed for refurbishment.
Disney’s Art of Animation Resort: From January 25, 2026, through January 31, 2026, Disney Skyliner will be closed for refurbishment. Complimentary bus service will be available.
Disney’s Beach Club Resort, Disney’s Beach Club Villas, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort: As Resort hotel refurbishments continue, you may see or hear construction during daytime hours.
Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts Refurbishment: Beginning in January 2025, Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts are currently undergoing refurbishments. While Guests may see or hear construction work during daytime hours, most Resort hotel amenities will remain available. Additionally, from January 2025 through June 2025, Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool will be closed for routine maintenance.
From January 25, 2026, through January 31, 2026, Disney Skyliner will be closed for refurbishment. Complimentary bus service will be available.
Disney’s Boardwalk Inn, Disney’s BoardWalk Villas: From January 25, 2026, through January 31, 2026, Disney Skyliner will be closed for refurbishment. Complimentary bus service will be available.
Disney's Wilderness Lodge, Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge, Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney's Wilderness Lodge: Beginning August 5, 2024, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and Copper Creek Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge will undergo exterior refurbishment work. Additionally, from mid-May 2025 to September 2025, Copper Creek Villas & Cabins will undergo guest room refurbishments. While all resort amenities will remain available, Guests may see and hear construction work during daytime hours.
From May 12 through May 21, 2025, Whispering Canyon Café will be closed for refurbishment. During this time, Guests can choose from a variety of other dining locations at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, including Territory Lounge, Roaring Fork, Geyser Point Bar & Grill and Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White.
Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort: From February 17 to April 30, 2025, the lobby in Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort will undergo refurbishment. While the lobby will stay open and all amenities will remain available, Guests may hear or see construction during daytime hours.
From January 25, 2026, through January 31, 2026, Disney Skyliner will be closed for refurbishment. Complimentary bus service will be available.
Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort:
September 2024 Through Summer 2025: Refurbishments will occur in select areas of Disney’s Contemporary Resort—including Bay Lake Tower and the Convention Center. During this time, the Skyway Bridge may have intermittent closures, but alternative walking paths can be used. Please allow for extra travel time. Guests may also see and hear construction during their stay.
January 26, 2026 Through Early May 2026: The Bay Cove Pool, the water play area and the whirlpool spa at Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort will temporarily be closed for maintenance. The Bay Lake Pool, the feature pool, the water play area and the whirlpool spa at Disney’s Contemporary Resort will remain open for Guests to enjoy.Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa: Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is currently undergoing refurbishment. Guests will be able to see and hear construction around the resort – including the lobby – during daytime hours. Most Resort hotel amenities will remain available. Please allow for extra travel time.
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows: Some areas of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows are being refurbished through 2026. Guests may see and hear some daytime construction, starting at 9:00 AM. Additionally, some views of the theme parks and other surrounding areas may be impacted.
Disney’s Pop Century Resort: From late March 2025 to mid-February 2026, Guest rooms at Disney’s Pop Century Resort will undergo refurbishment. While all resort amenities will remain available, Guests may notice construction during daytime hours.
From January 25, 2026, through January 31, 2026, Disney Skyliner will be closed for refurbishment. Complimentary bus service will be available.Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside: From early April 2025 through the end of January 2026, guest rooms in the Magnolia Bend at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside will undergo refurbishment. During this time, guests may see or hear construction work in the area.
Disney’s Riviera Resort: From January 25, 2026, through January 31, 2026, Disney Skyliner will be closed for refurbishment. Complimentary bus service will be available.
