Disney Treasure: What to Expect on This Adventure-Filled Disney Cruise

This ship overview is helpful but when you book your Disney cruise with Travel Grown, you’ll receive a much more detailed ship guide packed with tips, strategies, and everything you actually need to know before you sail so you can board feeling prepared instead of overwhelmed.

If you’re thinking about a Disney cruise, the Disney Treasure is one of the newest ships in the fleet and the whole ship feels really exciting from the moment you step onboard. The theming leans much more into adventure, exploration, and storytelling, so the entire ship feels immersive without losing that classic Disney Cruise Line feeling families love.

Compared to some of the other ships, the Treasure has a little more of a bold adventurous atmosphere while still feeling really cozy and family friendly. Whether you’re planning a big family vacation, a couples trip, or something in between, there’s a really good mix of entertainment, relaxing spaces, and Disney details woven throughout the ship.

The Disney Treasure does a really good job balancing relaxing vacation energy with all the big fun Disney moments people cruise for in the first place. You can spend one part of the day meeting characters, watching shows, and doing all the themed activities, and then slow things down later with coffee, ocean views, or an adults only dinner.

Whether you’re cruising with little kids, teenagers, extended family, or just doing a couples trip, the ship feels really easy to settle into. There’s always something happening if you want it, but it also never feels like you have to constantly be “on” to enjoy the trip.

And even if you’ve sailed with Disney before, the Treasure still feels really different from the other ships. The adventure theming and storytelling throughout the ship make the whole experience feel fresh and new while still keeping all the Disney Cruise Line things families already love.

The Ship at a Glance

The Grand Hall is inspired by Aladdin, with warm gold tones, giant stained glass style windows, and details that make you want to slow down and actually look around for a while. It has this adventurous atmosphere that really sets the tone for the rest of the ship.

The Disney Treasure leans heavily into adventure and storytelling throughout the design, but in a way that still feels really tasteful and fun. You’ll notice little nods to movies like Jungle Cruise, Coco, and The Lion King woven into restaurants, lounges, artwork, and random corners of the ship. One of the coolest parts is that you keep noticing new details throughout the cruise instead of feeling like everything is competing for your attention all at once.

Rooms & Ship Layout: Cozy Meets Storybook

The staterooms on the Disney Treasure were clearly designed with families in mind. Most rooms have the split bathroom setup, which makes getting everyone ready so much easier, especially after pool time or before dinner. There’s also surprisingly good storage for luggage and all the random things families bring on cruises, and the beds are really comfortable.

But beyond being practical, the rooms are just really pretty. Depending on where your room is located, you’ll notice subtle theming inspired by movies like Aladdin, The Lion King, Pocahontas, Finding Nemo, and Luca. The details are more soft and elegant than over the top, which makes the rooms still feel cozy and relaxing while keeping that Disney magic.

The Disney Treasure has 15 decks, but once you’re onboard for a day or two it becomes surprisingly easy to get around. The elevators, signs, and layout all make sense really quickly, and before long you’ll have your favorite coffee spot, pool deck, or snack location memorized. Mine became Jade Cricket Café almost immediately.

Want a specific room theme?

If your family has a favorite Disney movie, you might want to request a stateroom with a specific theme when you book your cruise. The Disney Treasure has different story themes throughout the ship depending on which deck your room is on, which is such a fun little detail.

  • Decks 2, 6 & 7Aladdin and Pocahontas

  • Decks 8 & 9Encanto and Up

  • Decks 10 & 11Finding Nemo and Luca

  • Decks 12 & 13 (Concierge Rooms)The Lion King

  • Deck 12 Royal Suites – Inspired by Rajah (from Aladdin) and Bagheera (from The Jungle Book)

  • Deck 14 (Tomorrow Tower Suite)EPCOT-themed

The theming is done in a really pretty subtle way with artwork, colors, and little design details inspired by the movies. It doesn’t feel childish or over the top, just very Disney in a cozy elegant way.

And if your family has a strong preference, definitely let us know early.

Dining: Rotational Style with Signature Disney Magic

One of the things people love most about Disney Cruise Line is the rotational dining. Instead of eating in the same restaurant every night, you rotate through different themed restaurants throughout your cruise, which keeps dinner feeling fun and different each night.

But the part that makes it really cool is that your serving team rotates with you. Your waiter and assistant waiter get to know your family really quickly. They remember your kids’ favorite drinks, what desserts you liked the night before, and all the little details that make dinner feel easy instead of stressful. By the end of the cruise, it feels less like restaurant service and more like seeing familiar faces every night.

And the Disney Treasure honestly has one of my favorite restaurant lineups yet.

  • Plaza de Coco –Plaza de Coco is probably the standout dining experience onboard for a lot of families. The entire restaurant is themed around Coco, with live music, storytelling, performances, and really beautiful details throughout the meal. It feels lively and immersive without feeling chaotic, and the atmosphere in here is just really fun.

  • 1923 – 1923 returned from the Disney Wish and still feels just as elegant and cozy. The restaurant is inspired by old Hollywood and early Disney animation history, with Disney sketches and artwork lining the walls throughout the space. It’s usually the quieter dinner night during the cruise, but still feels really special.

  • Worlds of Marvel: Quantum Encounter – Worlds of Marvel is one of the most unique dining experiences Disney Cruise Line has ever done. The whole dinner is interactive and built around Marvel storytelling, technology, and superhero action happening throughout the meal. You may even see Ant-Man and the Wasp during dinner, which kids especially get excited about.

You can learn more about how this works in our rotational dining guide.

Beyond the main dining restaurants, there are also tons of other places to grab food throughout the Disney Treasure, whether you want a quick breakfast, poolside lunch, late night snack, or coffee break.

  • Marceline Market

Marceline Market is the main buffet onboard and it’s open for breakfast and lunch each day. The whole space feels much more modern and upscale than a typical cruise buffet, with different food stations, lots of variety, and plenty of options that make it easy for families to find something everyone will eat.

  • Jade Cricket Café

Jade Cricket Café ended up becoming one of my favorite spots on the entire ship. It’s inspired by Mulan and has this really calm cozy atmosphere that feels perfect for slow mornings with coffee or quieter afternoons when you need a little break from the busier parts of the ship. It’s one of those places you accidentally keep going back to.

  • Mickey & Friends Festival of Foods

This is the main quick service food area on the pool deck and probably where families end up grabbing food most often during the cruise. There are tacos, burgers, BBQ, pizza, sandwiches, soft serve ice cream, and other grab and go options that make pool days really easy.

This was probably my favorite pool deck food setup on any Disney ship so far. Everything felt fresh, quick, and surprisingly good for cruise food.

  • Sarabi

Sarabi is one of the main entertainment hubs onboard and ends up being used for all kinds of activities throughout the cruise. During the day you’ll find trivia, games, snacks, drinks, and family activities happening here, and at night the space transforms for shows and entertainment.

  • Room Service

And one of the best things about Disney Cruise Line is that room service is included. You can order food to your stateroom 24 hours a day, whether you want late night fries, Mickey bars, coffee in the morning, or breakfast delivered while everyone gets ready for the day.

If you want a special adults only dinner during your cruise, Palo Steakhouse and Enchanté are the two upscale dining experiences onboard.

  • Palo Steakhouse has a more modern steakhouse feel while still keeping the Italian inspired touches Disney Cruise Line is known for.

  • Enchanté is the more elevated fine dining experience inspired by Beauty and the Beast, and it’s one of the fanciest restaurants on any Disney ship.

Both restaurants require reservations and an additional fee, but if you’re planning a date night or just want one really memorable meal during your cruise, they’re absolutely worth it.

Live Shows

One of the things Disney Cruise Line does really well is the entertainment. The shows on the Disney Treasure genuinely feel like Broadway productions, and they’re such a fun way to introduce live theatre to kids without it feeling overly formal or intimidating.

The Disney Treasure features three main stage shows onboard:

  • Disney The Tale of Moana

This is the first time Disney Cruise Line has brought Moana to the stage in a full Broadway style production, and it was genuinely SO well done. The costumes, puppetry, music, and effects throughout the show are incredible, and it feels really emotional and immersive in the best way.

  • Beauty and the Beast

Beauty and the Beast is another huge standout onboard. Even if you already know the movie by heart, the live version still feels really special. The costumes and stage design are beautiful, and the whole production somehow feels both classic and fresh at the same time.

  • Disney Seas the Adventure

This show has more of a fun feel good Disney Cruise Line energy and is themed around adventure, dreams, and setting sail. You’ll see appearances from several Disney characters throughout the performance, and it really captures that “we’re on vacation” feeling.

And the entertainment doesn’t stop at the theatre. Throughout the cruise there are deck parties, character meet and greets, trivia, game shows, movie nights, and activities happening all over the ship. The Disney Treasure also shows first run Disney movies onboard, which is always really fun if a new release happens while you’re sailing.

Entertainment & Lounges

One of the biggest attractions onboard the Disney Treasure is AquaMouse: Curse of the Golden Egg. It’s basically part waterslide and part Disney attraction, which is such a fun combination. The ride includes new animation, storytelling, music, and effects while you fly through clear tubes high above the ship. It’s still goofy, splashy, and one of those things both kids and adults end up wanting to ride more than once.

And if you need a quieter break from all the activity, Quiet Cove is the adults only pool area onboard and it really does feel like a little hidden retreat. There’s an infinity pool, lounge chairs, hot tubs, and nearby bar service, so it’s a really easy place to slow down for a while during the cruise.

It’s one of the best places onboard to sit with a drink, read a book, or just stare at the ocean for a little while without feeling rushed to do the next thing.

The lounges on the Disney Treasure are some of the coolest Disney Cruise Line has done so far. The theming throughout the ship feels really immersive, and these spaces end up being part of the experience instead of just somewhere to grab a drink.

  • Skipper Society

Skipper Society is inspired by Jungle Cruise and completely leans into the cheesy jokes and adventure vibe Disney fans love from the attraction. There are hidden details everywhere, and the whole lounge has this fun laid back atmosphere that makes you want to stay longer than you planned. And yes, the Jungle Bird cocktail is worth trying.

  • Periscope Pub

Periscope Pub is themed around 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and has a much moodier cozier atmosphere. The whole space feels like an old submarine with deep sea details, round windows, and really cool lighting throughout. It’s one of those lounges that feels very different from anything else onboard.

  • Haunted Mansion Parlor

And then there’s Haunted Mansion Parlor, which is probably one of the most talked about spaces on the ship for good reason. The entire lounge feels like stepping inside the Haunted Mansion attraction, with spooky details, creative drinks, eerie music, and cast members fully staying in character. It somehow feels creepy and cozy at the same time, and it’s absolutely one of those “you have to experience this yourself” places onboard.

Kid & Teen Spaces

Disney Cruise Line really does such a good job creating spaces that feel designed for every age group, especially kids and teens. The Disney Treasure has some really impressive youth spaces onboard, and they feel way more immersive than a typical cruise kids club.

  • it’s a small world nursery!

For babies and toddlers ages 6 months to 3 years, it’s a small world nursery is a really sweet quieter space where little ones can nap, play, and be cared for in a calm environment while parents get a little break. It’s a really nice option if you want to book an adults only dinner, spend some time at the spa, or just relax for a little while without feeling rushed.

Unlike the other kids clubs onboard, the nursery isn’t included in your cruise fare. It does require reservations and has an additional hourly fee, so if you think you’ll want to use it during your cruise, it’s a good idea to reserve times as early as possible.

  • Oceaneer Club

Disney’s Oceaneer Club is usually where kids end up wanting to spend most of their time onboard. The whole space feels more like stepping inside different Disney worlds than a normal kids club. There are themed rooms, interactive games, activities, crafts, and character visits throughout the cruise, so there’s always something happening.

On the Disney Treasure, kids can also explore spaces inspired by Star Wars and Marvel, including the Marvel Super Hero Academy, which is always a huge hit.

  • Edge and Vibe

Edge is the tween space for ages 11 to 14 and has more of a laid back hangout feel with games, music, movies, and activities designed specifically for that age group.

Vibe is for teens ages 14 to 17 and feels much more like a trendy teen lounge than a traditional kids club, with places to relax, play games, listen to music, and meet other teens throughout the cruise.

  • The Hideaway

And one thing that makes the newer Disney ships a little different is The Hideaway, which is designed for the in between age group of 18 to 20 year olds. It gives older teens and young adults their own place to hang out and relax without feeling like they’re stuck between the teen spaces and the adult areas onboard.

Basically, your kids won’t be bored and you’ll get to enjoy your vacation knowing they’re in good hands.

Health & Wellness at Sea

If you want a little relaxation or a way to balance out all the cruise food, the Disney Treasure has some really nice wellness spaces onboard too.

  • The Fitness Center has updated equipment, huge ocean views, and plenty of room if you want to get a workout in during your trip. There are also fitness and wellness classes offered throughout the sailing if you want something a little more structured while you’re onboard.

  • The Senses Spa is one of the prettiest quieter areas on the ship and offers massages, facials, salon services, and spa treatments throughout the cruise. The whole space feels really calm and relaxing, which is a nice break from the busier family areas onboard. And yes, the massages really are as dreamy as everyone says.

  • There’s also a walking track onboard if you just want to move your body a little while staring out at the ocean, which feels a lot more relaxing than a normal workout.

Why Families Love the Disney Treasure

The Disney Treasure feels really different from the other Disney ships in the best way. The whole ship leans into adventure, storytelling, and immersive theming while still keeping that cozy Disney Cruise Line feeling families love. Everywhere you turn there’s some little detail, hidden reference, or beautifully themed space that makes the ship feel really special.

Whether this is your very first Disney cruise or you’ve sailed with Disney before, the Treasure has a way of feeling exciting and new while still being really easy and relaxing for families. There’s so much to do onboard, but it never feels like you have to constantly rush from one thing to the next to enjoy the trip.

If you already have a Disney Treasure cruise booked, you have so much to look forward to. And if you’re still deciding which ship to choose, the Treasure is such a fun option for families who love Disney storytelling, immersive spaces, and a cruise that feels packed with personality.
