Airplane landing in Orlando
Getting There

Getting to Disney World from MCO

A simple guide to your ground transportation options.

Getting from Orlando International Airport (MCO) to Disney World is easier than you’d think, and you have a few solid options to choose from. My honest recommendation is to book your transportation yourself rather than going through a third party. If your flight shifts at the last minute (and Florida flights love to do that), you’ll be the direct point of contact with the company, which saves you a whole lot of back-and-forth and stress.

Here’s how I’d break down your best ways to get from MCO to the magic.

1

Grab a Rideshare When You’re Ready

Rideshares like Uber, Lyft, and taxis are usually ready and waiting the moment you land at MCO. Prices swing based on the time of day, the size of your group, and how many drivers are out, so it’s worth a quick check before you commit.

  • Grab your luggage, then request a ride in the app or hop in line at the taxi stand.
  • Uber and Lyft are great if you don’t need car seats. I always check both apps to see which one is cheaper the day I land, and you can even schedule your ride ahead of time.
2

Book a Private Ride in Advance

Traveling with young kids or just prefer a private ride waiting for you? I’d book ahead with Away We Go or Happy Limo. Both are reliable, and they can provide car seats when you need them.

Away We Go

Why I love them

  • Private rides for the whole family.
  • Complimentary car seats.
  • They’ll even handle luggage drop-off and pick-up at your resort, so you can head straight for the magic.

Mears Connect: Shared Shuttle Service

Mears Connect runs a shared shuttle from MCO to Disney World, and it’s usually the most budget-friendly way to go. You have two levels of service to pick from:

  • Standard Service: a shared motor coach. Roundtrip rates start around $32 per adult and $26 per child (ages 3-9), plus a small fuel surcharge. Kids under 3 ride free.
  • Express Service: a private roundtrip ride for up to 4 passengers at $250, plus $55 for each additional passenger.
Car seats

Mears doesn’t provide car seats, and they aren’t required on the motor coach. If a passenger van is used instead, it’s up to the parent or guardian to keep children under 5 safe. Since Mears doesn’t guarantee the vehicle type, I’d bring a car seat just in case.

Rates are set by each company and can change, so double-check current pricing when you book.
