How to Use the Single Rider Lines at Universal Orlando

If you are visiting Universal Orlando without little ones in tow, one of the best ways to maximize your park day is by using the single rider line. These lines are designed to fill empty seats on rides and can save you a lot of time if you do not mind being separated from your group.

Note: Single Rider Lines aren’t always available. They will periodically open and close based on crowd levels.

What Is the Single Rider Line?

A single rider line is a separate queue available at certain attractions for guests who are riding alone or do not mind being split up. When there is an open seat on a ride vehicle, a team member will pull someone from this line to fill it. This keeps rides running efficiently and often means a much shorter wait time than the standard queue.

A Few Things to Keep in Mind

  • Single rider lines are not meant for families or groups to ride together. You will most likely be separated from your party.

  • You may end up in a different row or an entirely different ride vehicle from your group.

  • Because of this, you might not finish the ride at the same time as your friends or family.

  • Express Passes are not valid in single rider lines. These are separate queues, so if you want to stay together, use your Express Pass line instead.

  • Some rides have incredible themed queues that are worth walking through at least once. If it is your first time on a ride like Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, go through the regular line the first time so you can enjoy the full experience.

How to Use the Single Rider Line

  1. Ask a Team Member if the ride is currently accepting single riders. Availability can change throughout the day.

  2. Follow the signs to the correct queue entrance. Some rides have the single rider line join the main line before splitting off.

  3. Stay alert to directions and be ready to move quickly once a seat opens up.

When to Use the Single Rider Line

The single rider line is a great option if:

  • You are traveling with older kids, teens, or adults who do not mind riding separately.

  • You have already ridden an attraction once and just want to experience it again without the long wait.

  • You want to make the most of your time in the park and fit in a few extra rides before the day ends.

When to Skip It

If it is your first time on a major attraction, the regular queue might be worth the wait. Universal’s themed lines are part of the fun, and some include pre-shows that set the stage for the ride itself. You will also miss out on riding together and taking group photos if you split up.

The Bottom Line

Single rider lines can be a major time-saver for guests who do not mind going solo for a few minutes. If you are looking to get the most out of your Universal Orlando visit and do not need to ride side-by-side, this option is a smart way to experience more attractions in one day.
